⚙️ Privacy Preferences & Consent
Two-Tiered Consent System
TraceBlazer uses a two-tiered consent approach to give you granular control over your data:
🔵 Google UMP SDK (User Messaging Platform)
Google's official consent mechanism for compliance with GDPR (EU) and CCPA (California).
Controls: Personalized advertising, ad measurement, and Google's advertising partners
🎮 TraceBlazer Custom Consent Dialog
Our branded consent for TraceBlazer-specific features and analytics.
Controls: App usage analytics, performance monitoring, crash reporting, and functional features
Consent Flow
How the consent process works:
- Step 1 - Google UMP Consent: When you first open TraceBlazer, Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK displays first, asking for consent regarding personalized advertising and ad measurement
- Step 2 - TraceBlazer Custom Consent: After the Google UMP consent (for logged-in users), our branded consent dialog appears, asking for permissions related to analytics, performance monitoring, and functional features
- Step 3 - Consent Sync: Your choices are synchronized and stored, ensuring consistent privacy preferences across both systems
- Start Playing: Once you've made your choices, you can immediately start enjoying TraceBlazer with your preferred privacy settings
Note: Guest users only see the Google UMP consent for advertising. Custom consent for analytics is only shown to users who create an account.
When You'll See Consent Prompts
- First Launch: Both consent dialogs appear when you first open TraceBlazer
- After Reset: If you clear app data or reinstall the app
- Legal Updates: When privacy laws or our policies change materially
- Geographic Changes: If you move to a region with different privacy requirements
Manage Your Preferences
- In-App Settings: Navigate to Settings → Privacy Settings
- Google Consent: Review and change Google UMP consent choices
- Analytics Consent: Toggle app analytics on/off
- Personalized Ads: Toggle ad personalization on/off
- Functional Features: Toggle optional functional cookies/features on/off
- Immediate Effect: All changes take effect immediately upon saving
- Persistent Storage: Your preferences are saved and respected across app sessions
Note: Declining certain consents may limit some features (like leaderboards or personalized content) but core gameplay remains fully functional. You can always change your mind and update preferences later.

You can opt-out anytime:
- In-App: Settings → Privacy Settings → Disable "Personalized Ads"
